do not feed the humans
Pani Vasiliou
The citadel of might, 2008.

Vasiliou, being predominantly a furniture designer (Goldsmiths' College, University of London) and having studied animal sociology - specializing on human behavior expressed under extreme conditions- (University College, University of London) has recently brought the fields together to synthesize a personal visual language for the purposes of the "Do not feed the humans" exhibition.

She feels disturbed by the massive grouping of living organisms of the same kind, as they transform into a single vibrating body of huge energy and strength, especially by the humanoid that emerges out of "human concentrates". The mechanism that fuels individuals to gather up and achieve gigantic feats, allows the provocation of changes that would otherwise have been impossible.

Vasiliou argues whether these impossible feats, once formulated, should be allowed to indiscreetly sustain autonomous existence. She further suggests that certain gifted individuals with critical mind capacities and power should be intervening to either dilute or further encourage such energized entities and thereby co-ordinating the fate of humanity.

It is intriguing how a designer's item -such as a couch- serves beyond its basic role... allowing Vasiliou's chosen few to rest above the mortals and control the humanoid... while being out of reach, the process becomes a reminiscent of memory.
